12" x 16" barnwood (weathered wood) frame.
Airloom Framing, Signs, Furniture & Aerial Photography
At Airloom we have a full service framing shop. We take aerial photographs. We build a variety of custom signs and we re-purpose old treasures. Whenever we can we use reclaimed wood, either barn wood, fence boards or construction waste.
Stained weathered wood
If you like the rustic look but your piece doesn't lend itself to the traditional grey seen typically with barn wood, then this might be the answer. This weathered wood has been washed and dry stained with a brown stain.
Vintage Music Mat
The mat in this frame is made of vintage music that is dry mounted to the mat board. This would be great for music certificates.
Outdoor side table.
I made this side table the same height as a TV table
so we can eat on the deck but not in our laps.

Rusty Nail Signs
The name of this collection comes from the fact that
whenever possible we add a rusty nail to the weathered wood sign.
For samples of all the signs we have made click here.
Magazine Holder
This project is built from construction waste
then weathered with steel wool in vinegar.
Add some brown vinyl lettering and magazines and voila!!
This piece would look really cute painted in antique white
for a painted country look.
Shabby Frames + Vintage Wallpaper
I added some vintage wallpaper to the shabby frames. These can be left as is or the wallpaper can serve as a mat if you add your own photo or print.
Farmhouse Table
This table is 7' x 3' and has seated 12. The top is made from reclaimed rough fir and the legs are from reclaimed shipping wood.
There is no stain on the top, just varnish.
Chippy Paint Chair
Chippy paint chairs are the perfect example of renewing something old and then making it old again. This one has been painted dark brown first and then an antique white. Then sanded and scraped to create the shabby look.
Apple Crates for Storage
I like the idea of vintage apple crates for storage, however they are getting hard to find and when you find them they are pretty beaten up. More like battered chic than shabby chic. So I decided to build one myself. This is the first one and I would make some changes to the next. First the bottom is too heavy and second I figured out after the fact how to quickly make the handles.
So I made it big enough to store papers.... or
carry apples to the donkeys!

Barn Window Mirror
An old barn window stained with pickling white. Embellished with old hardware.
Frosted wording on the mirror:
Together.... is the best place to be!
Barnwood Coffee Table
This table is made with all reclaimed wood.
The legs are 2 x 3" spruce, painted brown and distressed.
The top is fence boards, sanded down and then re-weathered
with a mixture of vinegar and steel wool.
This piece could be categorized as 'Cowboy Chic'.
China Cabinet
6' high, 4' wide, 16" deep. The doors are made out of two old 6 pane windows, that one of the prairie pickers gave me in exchange for some barnwood framing.
I sent my girlfriend a picture of this piece and her husband wondered why I'd put all the china in it before I painted it!! He was astounded to find out that I had worked hard to achieve that look. :-}
5 Board Bench
36" wide, 18" high, 14" deep.
Perfect for in a porch for putting on shoes or as extra seating at the dining room table or under a window for houseplants.
